How selection works
Five steps, start to finish. We would rather you knew the whole process up front than wondered what was happening after submitting.
Step 01
Submit your application
The form takes about fifteen minutes. Applying is free — no fee is due at this stage, and none is due unless you are selected.
Step 02
Review — about two days
The Secretariat reads every application. Decisions are made on demonstrated agency, not on pedigree or institution, and the cohort is deliberately balanced across the five categories.
Step 03
Watch your inbox — including spam
The outcome arrives by email at the address you signed in with. Automated mail does sometimes land in spam or promotions, so check those folders before assuming you have heard nothing.
Step 04
If you are selected
You get seven days to pay the seat commitment fee from your dashboard, and you join the Foundry community. The deadline is shown on your dashboard the moment you are accepted.
Step 05
If you are not selected this time
Capacity is finite and the cohort is balanced, so a strong application can still miss out. It is not a verdict on your work. Keep building — future editions are genuinely open to you.
On the day
The evening, end to end
The date itself is disclosed to applicants on selection. This is how the evening runs once you are in the room.
