Edition 001 · The Build Sprint

Zenith: Foundry

Ideas enter. Iconoclasts leave.

A curated five-hour build sprint for fifty selected builders (researchers/debaters, artists, developers, and founders/organizers), cross-disciplinary pods populate one Universal Blueprint Board, survive a live mutation that rewrites a constraint mid-sprint, and defend their system before the whole cohort. Ideas enter. Builders leave.

Who belongs in the room

Selected for agency, not credentials.

You do not need a college pedigree, a startup, or a technical portfolio. You need evidence that you have already pushed against something. A researcher, a debater, a community organizer, an artist and a founder are equally eligible.

50 seats, every one of them building

There is no ticket tier that lets someone watch. Every seat in the room builds.

One universal format

The Blueprint Board makes a civic campaign, an AI protocol, an art movement and an educational model comparable on one wall.

No winners, seven recognitions

Strongest Pivot and People's Choice go to pods; Creator, Builder, Technologist, Thinker and Leader of the Day go to individuals. No first, second or third place.

Eligibility criteria

Five ways into the room.

There is no single profile we are looking for. Foundry works because the pods are mixed — a system designed only by people who think alike fails in the same way at the same time. Apply under the category closest to your work, and name a second if you straddle two; most people do.

01

Creators

Artists · Designers · Writers · Visual storytellers · Film-makers · Musicians

You work in craft and narrative. You make things people look at, read, or feel — and you care about how an idea is expressed, not just whether it is correct. At Foundry you are the pod's instinct for how a system is communicated and experienced, which is usually what decides whether anyone adopts it.

02

Builders

Founders · Entrepreneurs · Organisers · Business minds · Event leads · Operators

You start things and make them run. A venture, a club, a campaign, an event — you have taken something from nothing to working, and you know what it costs. At Foundry you are the pod's sense of feasibility: what can actually be executed, resourced, and sustained past the first week.

03

Technologists

Developers · Engineers · Data and ML practitioners · Hardware and robotics builders

You build with technical systems. Code, hardware, data, infrastructure — you understand what a machine can and cannot be made to do. At Foundry you are the pod's reality check on mechanism: whether the thing being proposed can be built at all, and what it would actually take.

04

Thinkers

Policy thinkers · Researchers · Analysts · Debaters · Investigative writers · Economists

You interrogate claims. You read the evidence, find the flaw in the argument, and insist the problem is stated correctly before anyone rushes to solve it. At Foundry you are the pod's rigour — the reason a blueprint survives the Defense Gallery instead of collapsing under the first hard question.

05

Leaders

Community leaders · Advocates · Campaigners · Club presidents · Student representatives

You move people. Not a title on a team sheet — the actual work of getting a group to agree, commit, and follow through, and taking responsibility when it goes wrong. At Foundry you are the pod's ability to align around one direction under time pressure, which is the constraint most teams fail on.

Age is not a criterion and neither is institution. Applicants under 18 are welcome with a parent or guardian's consent, collected in the application form.

The Sequence

Five and a half hours, seven phases.

  1. Phase 01

Doors open, and the clock is real

Check in, collect your badge, get a proper portrait taken. Problem statements go live at 2:30, first come, first choose.

  2. Phase 02

The Foundry — 90 minutes to build

Ten pods of five build at the board. At minute 45 the lights change and the Mutation rewrites one rule of your problem — everybody pivots at once.

  3. Phase 03

    You present. The room asks.

Every pod presents its build and takes questions: ten pods, three and a half minutes each.

  4. Phase 04

Dinner, and a letter to yourself

Starters and dinner, seated with people from other pods. You write a letter to your future self, sealed until 2029.

  5. Phase 05

    Recognition

Seven awards. Two go to pods, five go to individuals — a Creator, Builder, Technologist, Thinker and Leader of the Day.

  6. Phase 06

    The Wall

The Wall is lit for the first time: fifty sealed envelopes arranged in one shape.

  7. Phase 07

    The floor

Two hours of music. Pick up your certificate and your envelope on the way out, whenever you go.

Agency-First Application Protocol

Three questions decide every invitation.

Question 01

Agency & Initiative

“Tell us about something you've created, started, improved, challenged or organized in the last 12 months.”

Question 02

Conviction & Friction

“What is one real-world problem or inefficiency that genuinely frustrates you when you walk through your city?”

Question 03

Proof of Craft

“Show us one piece of work you are proud of — a repository, a design file, a video, an essay, a debate transcript, an artwork, a research paper, a deck.”

Seat commitment

₹3,500₹2,000

Payable only upon acceptance — applying costs nothing. The fee exists to prevent casual no-shows; the rest of the true cost per seat is carried by Zenith and its Founding Partners.

Early access: the first 10 applicants pay ₹2,000 with code Early10 — a saving of ₹1,500.

Refunds

The seat commitment fee is non-refundable once paid, because it is committed to venue, catering and production costs before the edition runs. We refund in two cases: if we cancel the edition outright without running a replacement, or if a payment fails, is duplicated, or is charged in error. Refund requests go to Zenithyouthsummit@gmail.com within 30 days.

What's included

  • Starters and dinner
  • Stationery and edition goodies
  • Early-access perks for the first applicants
